Bonang Matheba, Angelique Kidjo And A Few Other Makes It To Forbes Africa’s 50 Most Powerful Women

This is a first-of-its-kind Pan-African unranked compilation of the continent’s leading women, drawn from business, politics, media, science, sports and public life, who are challenging the status quo and creating a trail on terrain where there was none. They are reshaping history, closing inequalities and pioneering new avenues of wealth creation and in turn, lifting others with them.

Angelique Kidjo and Bonang Matheba have been named among the Forbes Africa’s 50 most powerful and influential women from across the continent.

The List that was released on Friday 6th March is aimed to celebrate women who are changing the status quo in the continent ranging from media personalities to business women, artists, and political leaders.

Angelique Kidjo and Bonang Matheba are representing the world of entertainment among others in different field of works.

Grammy Award Winner Angelique Kidjo was recognized for being a voice for women, especially black women in the entertainment industry and She being a four time Grammy Award Winner. She is a big inspiration to the people of Benin and Africans at large.

Bonang Matheba is a South African television presenter, radio personality, businesswoman, producer, model and philanthropist. She is known for her flamboyant presenting skills and her signature voice and for being the first black South African to be featured on numerous magazines.

In 2016, she graced the cover of Forbes Woman Africa alongside 3 other women who were all given a headline for being the Faces of Entrepreneurship.

The List was dominated by Nigeria and South African Women.

Mozambican politician and humanitarian Graca Machel, the widow of both former presidents of Mozambique and South Africa Samora Machel and Nelson Mandela made it to the list as well as Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
